Ageas Zip Wire Challenge Raises More Than £15,000 For Good Causes

The Ageas Zip Wire Challenge returned to the The Ageas Bowl for a second successive year

The Ageas Zip Wire Challenge returned to the The Ageas Bowl this month, an event which offered thrill-seekers the opportunity to ‘zip’ across the The Ageas Bowl outfield in order to raise funds for charity.

The event, which is organised by Hampshire Cricket in the Community, in partnership with the The Ageas Bowl’s principle sponsor Ageas, took place over two days on Friday 7th and Saturday 8th October.

We’re thrilled with the turnout again for this year’s Ageas Zip Wire Challenge and it’s been fantastic to be able to build on the success of last year’s event. This year’s fundraising generated more than £15,000 for good causes which was made possible thanks to the excellent support received.

Greig Stewart, Hampshire Cricket In The Community Manager

Following a successful launch event in 2015, the Ageas Zip Wire Challenge proved to be popular once again this year with more than 100 volunteers taking the opportunity to descend down to the venue’s famous outfield. More than £15,000 was raised in total for a wide range of charities and local community groups by this year’s participants.

As a large local employer, we’re really pleased to have helped Hampshire Cricket in the Community in supporting the Ageas Zip Wire Challenge for the second year. The initiative is a brilliant way of benefiting the community by providing another opportunity to raise money for charities and good local causes. We had 20 employees taking part who are pleased to have raised over £2,500 towards the grand total.

Lyn Nicholls, Ageas UK HR Director

The Ageas Zip Wire Challenge was open to individuals wishing to raise money for charities, sports clubs, schools and community groups.
