Fundraisers 'Zip The Ageas Bowl' for Charity

The event raised more than £20,000 for good causes in and around Hampshire

The Ageas Bowl provided the setting for 130 local fundraisers to take on an adrenaline-fuelled challenge raising more than £20,000 for good causes in and around Hampshire.

Fundraisers from Naomi House, Blue Cross, Diversabilities, Hampshire Search & Rescue and Treloar Trust were joined by Hampshire Cricket staff and mascot Roary the Lion to participate in the Ageas Zip Wire Challenge which had them descending over 450-feet from the top tier of the pavilion to the outfield.

The event was supported by Ageas UK whose employee team raised money for a range of good causes including NSPCC, Hampshire Cricket in the Community and Help for Heroes.

We’re delighted to have supported the Ageas Zip Wire Challenge, raising money for Hampshire Cricket in the Community and other local charities. As naming rights partner of the The Ageas Bowl, we’re proud to help showcase the ground as not just a cricket venue. We’d like to congratulate all those who took part in the event, and we’re really pleased that through our own employees we’ve helped contribute to some fantastic causes.

Paul Lynes, Ageas UK Director of Communications and Public Affairs

The fundraising challenge is the most recent community event organised by Hampshire Cricket in the Community, official charity partner of Hampshire Cricket and the The Ageas Bowl, whose work includes utilising the facility for the benefit of the wider community.

This has been a fantastic opportunity for us to utilise our facilities and profile to support charities to raise funds which will make a difference to the lives of people in the local area. We are grateful to Ageas for making it possible and thank all of the fundraisers who took part in the event and contributed to its overwhelming success.
