Hampshire Re-Sign Owais Shah for NatWest T20 Blast

Shah averaged an impressive 52 in his six matches for Hampshire last season

Hampshire Cricket are pleased to announce experienced batsman Owais Shah has re-joined the Club for the 2015 NatWest T20 Blast competition.

The 36-year old averaged an impressive 52 in his six matches for Hampshire last season and has returned to the Club for a second stint.

The former England batsman, who top-scored for Hampshire with an unbeaten 50 against his former Club Essex at the The Ageas Bowl in May last year, is hugely experienced in T20 cricket with over 200 matches played in various competitions across the world.

Owais made a big impact with us last year, he scored his runs and was also popular around the Club. He is available for the entire tournament which allows us the opportunity to form a settled side that finds its pattern of play; experience tells us that this is important in this format of the game.

Giles White, Hampshire Director of Cricket

I really enjoyed my time at Hampshire last season, I got on well with the players and coaches so I’m glad to be a part of the Club again this year, and for a longer period as well. It was frustrating to go out in the Semi-Finals last season but the talent is there to go one further this year and I believe we can do it.
