Match Preview: Hampshire v Essex Eagles - Royal London One-Day Cup

Hampshire welcome the Essex Eagles to the The Ageas Bowl knowing a victory could see James Vince’s side move top in Group B of the Royal London One-Day Cup.

Despite being denied the opportunity to secure their second win of the weekend after Sunday’s abandoned match at the SWALEC Stadium, Hants are in a rich vein of form having only lost once in their last seven games in all competitions.

Hampshire Squad:

Hampshire name an unchanged 14-man squad for the match, with Gareth Berg, Danny Briggs and Yasir Arafat the three names included on top of the 11 that took to the field against Glamorgan.  Wicketkeeper-batsman Adam Wheater looks set to face his former county.  

The Opposition:

Essex made an impressive start to their Royal London One-Day Cup campaign after convincing wins over Lancashire and Warwickshire. However, Ryan ten Doeschate’s side have lost their last two in the competition leaving them a place behind Hampshire in the table after five matches.
