Match Preview: Hampshire v Lancashire Lightning - Royal London One-Day Cup

Squad news ahead of tomorrow's 50-over match against Lancashire Lightning at the The Ageas Bowl

After an impressive run in the Royal London One-Day Cup so far this season, Hampshire return to the The Ageas Bowl to face Lancashire Lightning in their final home group-stage fixture on Monday.

James Vince’s side have won four of their six games in this year’s campaign and currently sit in second place in Group B knowing that with just two group-stage matches remaining, victory will ensure qualification for the quarter-final stage.

As part of a new ‘Kids Go Free’ initiative, all Under 17s are able to attend the fixture free of charge when accompanied by a paying adult.

Hampshire Squad:

Hampshire make just one change to the 14-man squad that defeated Warwickshire at Edgbaston nearly two weeks ago, with all-rounder Sean Ervine returning following his successful recovery from a finger injury in place of departed seamer Jackson Bird.

Fidel Edwards and Joe Gatting are also included once again in addition to the final eleven that faced Warwickshire in the last 50-over match.

The Opposition:

Lancashire’s Royal London One-Day campaign has been one of mixed fortunes so far in 2015, with Steven Croft’s side currently fifth in the group after two wins from their six matches so far.

The visitors claimed a 51-run victory over Kent in their last 50-over fixture, and are in contention to earn a quarter-final place with two games remaining.

Australian international James Faulkner is likely to be a danger-man for the visitors – the all-rounder has featured prominently in white-ball cricket and has had a positive 50-over competition so far whilst also contributing heavily in the NatWest T20 Blast.
