Match Preview: Hampshire v Middlesex (1st Aug) & Glamorgan v Hampshire (2nd Aug) - Royal London One-Day Cup

Squad news ahead of Hampshire's Royal London One-Day Cup double-header against Middlesex and Glamorgan

Hampshire look to regain momentum following a tough Royal London One-Day Cup defeat to Kent on Thursday, as they aim for victories against Middlesex and Glamorgan in back-to-back 50-over matches.

James Vince’s side enjoyed an impressive 87-run victory over local rivals Sussex in Monday’s opening fixture, however Hampshire then faltered at Canterbury to leave them with one win and one loss in the competition so far.

Saturday’s fixture at the The Ageas Bowl is also the Ageas Family Festival with a day of cricketing action and family-friendly activities, before a musical performance from Boyzone concludes proceedings.

Hampshire Squad:

Hampshire name an unchanged 13-man squad from Thursday’s trip to Canterbury.

Fidel Edwards again features and looks set to make his second appearance of the competition, whilst Danny Briggs and Will Smith feature once again in addition to the final eleven named against Kent.

The Opposition:

Middlesex

Middlesex have stuttered to begin their 2015 Royal London One-Day cup campaign with one loss and one no-result gained from their opening two games.

England limited-overs captain Eoin Morgan will lead the visitors and he will likely be the key-man to watch when his side visit the The Ageas Bowl on Saturday after the left-hander averaged more than 56 in List A matches last year.

Glamorgan

Despite being docked two points before the commencement of this year’s competition, Glamorgan claimed a healthy three points from their first two Royal London One-Day cup fixtures.

Jacques Rudolph’s side enjoyed a thrilling three-wicket win over Kent in their second match of the competition, largely thanks to an impressive century from powerful batsman Colin Ingram, who will likely be the danger-man once again as Hampshire travel to Cardiff.
