Matchday Theming Announced For T20 Blast!

Hampshire's clash against Kent Spitfires will be during the club's Armed Forces Day

Hampshire Cricket are proud to announce a wide range of matchday themes for the club’s NatWest T20 Blast matches at the The Ageas Bowl in 2016.

Hampshire’s clash against Kent Spitfires on Thursday 2nd June will see the club show their support for those, past or present, who have served in the British Armed Forces. This will be recognised on the field when the Hampshire 2XI face a United Kingdom Armed Forces XI prior to the main event.

Off the field there will be performances from the Military Wives Choir and the HMS Collingwood Navy Marching Band, whilst fans will have the unique opportunity to get up close and personal with a number of military vehicles on site.

Past or present members of the Armed Forces are entitled to a big discount on tickets for this match, at £10 for Adults and just £1 for Under 17s.

Hampshire’s famous ‘elclasicoast’ fixture against local rivals Sussex Sharks looks set to be even bigger and better than previous years when it takes place on Friday 17th June. The contest will feature an array of matchday activation, with Batfast's Bowling Simulator, funfair attractions as well as post match entertainment from The Gun Show all supplementing the on-pitch thrills.

The Ageas Bowl’s annual Family Festival returns on Saturday 25th June for Hampshire’s match against Gloucestershire. A whole host of family-friendly activities will be available for use throughout the day including a fun fair, inflatables, assault course and an unforgettable hands-on animal experience – the Longdown Mobile Farm. The Rock Choir, who have regularly wowed the crowd at the The Ageas Bowl’s annual Fireworks Party, will also be performing.

Following on from last year’s undoubted success, the The Ageas Bowl’s Ladies Day returns on Friday 8th July with the evening dedicated to promoting women in sport. Hampshire’s match against Essex Eagles will be mirrored by a women’s T20 match between the two counties prior to the main event whilst young female cricketers from across the county will be taking part in the pre-match T20 Skills Challenge.

The visit of New Zealand cricketing legend Brendan McCullum and Middlesex on Friday 22nd July will see the match dedicated to all things Barbados. In partnership with the Barbados Tourism Authority, the The Ageas Bowl be filled with carnival performers, traditional Caribbean stalls, a steel band, and a post-match performance from crowd favourite and reggae tribute act, Ivan J.
