Owais Shah Penalised Under ECB Discipline Code

Batsman reported during Hampshire v Middlesex at the The Ageas Bowl

The England and Wales Cricket Board’s Cricket Discipline Commission (CDC) today confirmed that Owais Shah has received a penalty under the ECB’s Directives.

Shah was reported by umpires Mark Benson, Martin Saggers and Michael Gough during Hampshire’s NatWest T20 Blast match against Middlesex on June 4 for a Level One breach of the code (using language that is obscene, offensive or insulting and/or making an obscene gesture).

The penalty for this offence is a reprimand. This penalty will remain on his record for a period of two years and the accumulation of nine or more penalty points in any two year period will result in an automatic suspension.
