Winter Watch: The Ageas Bowl Quartet In Action Overseas

Mason Crane, Brad Taylor, Charlotte Edwards and Suzie Bates were in action overseas last week

Hampshire's Mason Crane and Brad Taylor impressed once again overseas this weekend, as both featured for their respective Australian sides at club level.

The duo both took two wickets apiece with the ball, as they turned out for Gordon Cricket Club and Woodville Cricket Club respectively, but their efforts were in vain as both sides were unfortunate to stumble to defeat.

Crane, who has taken a wicket in every fixture for his Australian based side this season, returned figures of 2-94 against Penrith Cricket Club before Worcestershire's Tom Kohler-Cadmore hit an unbeaten century to see the hosts safely to victory.

Taylor offered consitency and control with the ball for his side too, claiming 2-26 before opponents, Tea Tree Gully,  reached their target to secure a 5-wicket win.

Elsewhere overseas, Hampshire Women's newest recruit, Charlotte Edwards, struck 31 from 28 balls for her Adelaide Strikers as they won one of their first two contests of this year's Women's Big Bash League.

Edwards, who has joined Hampshire Women it was announced last week, looked in good touch during her innings and she will be hoping to contribute further when the Strikers take on Sydney Thunder this week.

Southern Vipers all-rounder Suzie Bates also enjoyed a positive start to her Big Bash campaign, as the Perth Scorchers skipper notched 48 from 46 balls and 1-25 in  a victorious opening fixture.

She also claimed 2-14 in the competition's second contest and will be hoping to continue her good form in two fixtures against the Brisbane Heat this week.
