Winter Watch: Rossouw And Bailey Hit Half-Centuries

Rilee Rossouw and George Bailey both struck half-centuries overseas last week

Hampshire batsmen Rilee Rossouw and George Bailey both featured prominently overseas last week, with the duo striking impressive half-centuries for their respective sides.

The club's latest recruit, Rilee Rossouw, enjoyed an impressive start to his spell with Pakistan Super League side, Quetta Gladiators, last week as he struck two excellent half-centuries in the competition's opening two fixtures.

The left-hander looked in excellent touch as he notched scores of 60 and 76* during the first two days to see the Galdiators to two victories to begin their PSL campaign.

Bailey was amongst the runs once again for Australian side, Tasmania, during their Sheffield Shield clash against Western Australia at Hobart.

The 34-year-old hit a battling 75 in the first-innings - his fourth half-century in his last five knocks - before adding 44 in the second innings, and despite the hosts falling to a difficult nine-wicket defeat, Bailey looked in excellent touch.

Tom Alsop was also in action last week, representing England Lions in their match against a Sri Lanka Board President's XI.

Mason Crane's weekend fixture for Gordon CC was postponed due to a heatwave in Sydney which saw record temperatures forecast for Saturday.
