Tickets Go On Sale for 2012 Internationals at The Rose Bowl

Tickets for England’s 2012 One Day International matches at The Ageas Bowl are now on sale, with cricket fans being urged to book their place for “one perfect day” at the home of Hampshire Cricket.

Alastair Cook’s side will take on the West Indies on Saturday 16 June then South Africa on Tuesday 28 August in what should prove to be two of the sporting highlights of the summer on the South Coast.

Hampshire Cricket members will enjoy a priority booking period of one week with General Admission tickets going on sale to the public from 10am on Monday 21 November.

Tickets are priced between £43.00 and £73.00 for adults with all junior (aged 16 and under) tickets costing £10.00.

England v. the West Indies (16th June):
The first One Day International of the 2012 Summer as well as the first of a three-match series, this fixture will set the tone for what is to come for England with two further ODI series to follow later in the year.

To add to the intrigue, though both sides have played at the ground before, it will be the first match between them at venue.

Furthermore, in the three matches the visitors played at The Rose Bowl, they remained undefeated. Meanwhile, having not lost a match, themselves, in Southampton since 2009, England will be up for the fight.

Played on a Saturday, the match should be a colourful, exciting and competitive game between two of the historic power-houses of International cricket.

England v South Africa (28th August):
Tuesday 28th August 2012 sees The Ageas Bowl welcome back South Africa for the first time since the ground’s very first ODI back in 2003. They take on England in a day-night fixture – the second of the NatWest ODI Series.

For England fans, this match is the last chance to see the team on the South Coast until 2013 with the road-show then moving on to London, Nottingham, Durham, Manchester and Birmingham before the end of the summer calendar.

South Africa are likely to field a team full of flair and skill, potentially including the likes of former Hampshire spinner, Imran Tahir and global superstars Graeme Smith, Jacques Kallis and Dale Steyn.

With two of the most passionate sets of fans in world sport this match should be an event to savour.

Group Commercial Director at The Ageas Bowl Zac Toumazi said; “There’s no doubt in our minds, and certainly in the minds of the consumers who voted us Best International Ground in 2010, that we can stage One Day Internationals extremely well.

“And I think, with England in their current form and all the excitement that surrounds them, it promises to be two fantastic international days.”
