FPT Hampshire Vs Nottinghamshire

May 20 2009

Cork

Hampshire thrashed Nottinghamshire by 10 wickets at Trent Bridge as both sides qualified for the quarter-finals of the Friends Provident Trophy.

After Notts won the toss, their top order was blitzed by Dominic Cork (4-18) as they were reduced to 68-6.

Mark Ealham (33 not out) and Andre Adams (26) led a recovery of sorts before the hosts were shot out for 145.

But Hampshire openers Jimmy Adams (73) and Michael Lumb (72) raced to their target inside 30 overs.

Hampshire's victory saw them leapfrog Nottinghamshire at the top of Group A and they are guaranteed a home draw in the quarter-finals as group winners.

Notts will join them in the last eight courtesy of Worcestershire's shock home defeat by Ireland.
