Hampshire's Academy side remains fourth in the Southern Electric Premier League, despite back-to-back defeats by Lymington and St Cross Symondians. They finish their programme against relegated Andover on the Rose Bowl Nursery Ground on Saturday, 1pm.
Lymington chased down a 208-run target to beat the Academy by five wickets with seven balls to spare at the Rose Bowl.
Hampshire Under-17 captain Jake George (58) underpinned the Young Royals’ total of 207-6, holding the top order together as left-armer Matt Mixer (2-24) and Wahid Khan made inroads.
The Academy slumped to 104-5 when George provided leg-spinner Khan (3-35) with his third wicket. Seventh-wicket pair Ollie Green (43 not out) and promising Under-16 all-rounder Justin Parvess (35 not out) added an unbroken 70 to take the Royals to 207-6.
But Lymington always looked comfortable in the run chase once Glyn Treagus (48) and Damian Shirazi (33) provided a 67-run opening platform.
Dorset’s Darren Cowley (46) and Rob Lammiman, with an unbeaten 25, got Lymington home.
