Benham Scores Unbeaten 90 for Seconds

Middlesex beat Hampshire by 4 wickets in the Second Eleven Trophy.

Middlesex Second XI v Hampshire Second XI
Second XI Trophy
9th August 2010
Radlett

Summary
Middlesex beat Hampshire by 4 wickets
Hampshire: 214
Middlesex: 215-6

A wonderful 90 not out from Chris Benham was, sadly, trumped by a 100 from former Hampshire man, Tom Scollay as Middlesex eased to a 4 wicket win in Radlett.

The result sees the home side qualify for the semi-finals of the Second XI Trophy courtesy of winning the South Division. Hampshire, having had a promising start (winning three of their opening four games), finish fourth after fading in the later stages.

Benham and First XI t20 star, Abdul Razzaq (43) were left to rack up more than half the visitors’ runs between them as no other batsman reached 20 in a match that had little at stake for either side.

Despite two wickets each for Zimbabwean, Glenn Querl (2-36)and the ever-improving David Griffiths (2-33) a Middlesex batting order that included promising England youngster Dan Housego knocked off the 215 required with more than five overs to spare.
