Hampshire Physical Disability player gains England recognition
In the week that Danny Briggs was called up to the full England One Day International and Twenty20 International squads, another Hampshire cricketer has been busy preparing for an international series.
Hampshire and England Physical Disability Cricketer Dan Reynaldo has been in preparation for his country’s first-ever Physical Disability International which will take place between England and Pakistan in Dubai on February 11th.
The squad have been training using multiple layers of clothing and bin liners to simulate the oppressive heat in Dubai and Reynaldo will be hoping the pitches are as spin friendly as those used in England’s recent Test matches.
16-year-old Reynaldo, from Basingstoke, is a solid middle-order batsman and destructive spin bowler who is part of the successful Bluebird Care Hampshire Disability Elite Squad. During the 2011 season he took 16 wickets at just 13 runs-a-piece and his outstanding performances in Regional Tournaments and Training Camps resulted in his call up.
