Clubs
The Bluebird Care Inclusive Cricket Clubs Programme is a key part of Hampshire Cricket Board’s Disability Cricket Strategy. The programme focuses on the inclusion of cricketers with disabilities into mainstream activity. While it is in its formative years the programme has already proved successful at Fareham, Fair Oak and Basingstoke and North Hants.
The HCB’s Disability Cricket Team support players, parents and clubs every step of the way to ensure that an inclusive environment can be achieved. Support can be financial (support with subscriptions/equipment/kit) and with delivery of coaching (additional qualified coaches provided at sessions.) Players are placed in an age group appropriate to their skill level, rather than their chronological age, and given direct assistance in order that they can achieve their potential.
As part of the Bluebird Care Inclusive Cricket Clubs Programme, Hampshire Cricket Board supports players with disabilities to gain coaching qualifications and runs Disability Awareness Workshops for qualified coaches as part of our aim to change the perception of disability within the cricketing environment.
We also support a number of Multi-Sports Clubs and work closely with Fair Oak Cricket Club’s Disability Section.
