Sean Michael ERVINE

“Slug” is a left-hand batsman and right-arm medium-pace bowler.
He was born in Harare, Zimbabwe, and represented his country in five Tests (2003-4) and 42 limited overs matches including the first ever international at The Rose Bowl.
He joined Hampshire and made his debut in 2005 when he was awarded his county cap. He scored centuries in the semi-final and final of the successful C&G Trophy in 2005 and won further trophies with Hampshire in 2009 and 2010.
His highest First Class score to date is 237*, recorded v Somerset in 2010. That's the highest ever score by a Hampshire player batting below number six in the order!
In 2005 he had the unusual honour of making his best Championship bowling figures twice in the same season against the same side, taking 5-60 both times against Glamorgan (the latter match was from fewer overs).
During the 2011 season, Ervine made his 4,000th First-Class run for Hampshire and took his 250th wicket in all formats for the club.
