The Indoor School is a large training facility located on the first floor of the main Pavilion. It is primarily used as a six-lane cricket facility by clubs, schools, county squads and the Hampshire Academy as each net has a slightly different bounce and degree of bounce to test batters and bowlers alike.
However, it is also used to host a number of indoor competitions including the NatWest U16 Indoor League and Southampton Evening Indoor League and has even hosted corporate functions during International match days and as an extension of our corporate facilities to host such events as trade exhibitions.
As part of a wider partnership between Southampton Solent University and Hampshire Cricket, the Indoor School is now managed by Sport Solent. The university took on the operational side of the Indoor School in October 2012 and continue to provide a fantastic level of service to all stakeholders of the facility.
Southampton Solent University will also be investing a significant sum of money into the refurbishment of the Indoor School due to take place in October 2013.
It is available for hire by the general public and has been used in the past for a variety of sporting activities ranging from pilates classes, to football competitions and even archery.
It also benefits from having a viewing balcony for spectators to watch the action.
