Rod Bransgrove

Chairman

Rod is an experienced manager and builder of businesses.  He founded Imperial Pharmaceuticals Services Limited in 1986, which merged with Shire Pharmaceuticals Group plc (“Shire”) in 1995.  In 1996, Shire was listed on the London Stock Exchange (“LSE”) and now has a market capitalisation value approaching £5Billion.  Rod was a Non-Executive Director of Shire between 1995-1998.

In 1996, Rod co-founded the Tidings Trading Co. Ltd and, in 1998, this company took control of the LSE-listed Sleepy Kids plc to form Entertainment Rights plc. He was Executive Chairman of Entertainment Rights plc until 2004, after which he continued as non-executive Chairman before passing the Chair to Sir Robin Miller in February 2009.

In 2000, he rescued Hampshire Cricket from insolvency and reconstituted the Club as a division of Rose Bowl plc (now known as RB Sport and Leisure Holdings plc). The following year, the Company was relocated to its emerging new ground, The Ageas Bowl (then known as The Rose Bowl). Rod’s passion for English cricket, in combination with his vision, energy and financial support, have been the key drivers in the success of The Ageas Bowl and Hampshire Cricket over the past 12 years. His commitment to the completion of the finest cricket venue in the UK is unwavering.

Rod also likes to assist companies with products which have social, community or environmental benefits and, in this respect, he is a non-executive director of PepTcell Ltd., e-wheels Ltd, and Cage Cricket Ltd.

 

David Mann

Chief Executive and Group Finance Director

David joined The Ageas Bowl in September 2007 as Group Finance Director.

He and Rod Bransgrove were instrumental in securing a £45m re-investment transaction with Eastleigh Borough Council and others which enabled construction of the 4-star Hilton Hotel. Following completion of this transaction, David assumed the role of Chief Executive in 2012.

David is a Modern Language graduate who qualified as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG. Prior to The Ageas Bowl he held a number of senior financial positions both in the UK and overseas. 

Chris Egelstaff

Operations Director

Joined The Ageas Bowl in June 2007 from Southampton Football Club where he was Stadium Operations Manager for seven years. He joined the Saints in July 2000 to work on the new stadium project and to implement the club’s move to St. Mary’s.

During his time at the Saints, Chris was responsible for the operational delivery of all events including football matches and concerts as well as overseeing the day to day running of the stadium. He was also instrumental in the stadium being awarded the coveted UEFA Four Star status. Prior to joining the Saints, Chris was at the Millennium Dome in a senior operational role having previously worked for the Football Association (including Euro 96), UEFA and the NFL.

He started his career as a graduate trainee with the Rank Organisation before moving to Wembley Stadium Ltd where he progressed to the position of Senior Event Manager. During his nine years at Wembley he managed a wide range of major events including Cup Finals, England Internationals, concerts and  American Football matches. Chris plays cricket regularly and is chairman of his local club.

Tim Tremlett

Cricket Secretary

A long-standing employee of Hampshire cricket across a number of capacities, Tim made his 1st XI debut in 1976 and enjoyed a 15 year playing career until his retirement in 1991, when he took up the position of County Coach.

During the winter of 2000/2001, Tim was manager of the England U19 Touring Party to India.

He is President of the Hampshire Cricket League and an Executive Member of the Hampshire Cricket Board.
