Utilita Bowl is the home of Hampshire Cricket, Southern Vipers and Southern Brave.

In 2023, Utilita Bowl hosted England Women in a sold-out Ashes ODI against Australia on Sunday 16th July, before England Men take on New Zealand in an ODI of their own on Sunday 10th September.

Domestic action saw Southern Vipers successfully defend their T20 title and Hampshire Hawks reach a record-breaking tenth T20 Finals Day, with plenty of other cricket to be played in other competitions.

The Hundred also returned for a third edition, which saw record attendances across each matchday for the Women's fixture.

Women’s Cricket in Hampshire On The Rise

The Hampshire Cricket Board are running a groundbreaking new coaching course

The number of women’s cricket coaches in the county is on the rise with the Hampshire Cricket Board running a groundbreaking new coaching course.

For the first time, the Hampshire Cricket Board are running an all female Level 2 Coaching Course taking place across four weekends at Perins School in New Alresford.

The aim of the Hampshire Cricket Board’s ‘Women & Girls Strategy’ is to increase the number of female Level 2 Coaches in the county to provide support to Schools, Clubs, District and the County Programme.

The fact that we’ve had the demand to run an all female level 2 coaching course just shows how popular women’s cricket currently is in Hampshire. It’s fantastic to see the enthusiasm and confidence in their ability to coach and we are hopeful that this is just the start as we look to continue to increase participation in cricket amongst females in the county.

Thanks to financial support from Sport Hampshire IOW’s Coaching Bursary and the Hampshire Cricket Board, the 14 females attending the course have been able to take their Level 2 Coaching Qualification at a heavily discounted rate.

The coaching course is really good and a good way of getting more women involved in cricket. I have always thoroughly enjoyed coaching because the reward you feel when you see someone improve.

This coaching course is allowing me to develop as a coach, my aim is to be a top quality female coach because in my eyes you don’t see enough female coaches involved in cricket.
