Brad Wheal Named in Scotland Squad to Tour Hong Kong

19-year old will be looking to stake a claim for a place in Scotland's ICC World T20 squad

Hampshire fast-bowler Brad Wheal has been named in Scotland’s 15-man squad for their next round of World Cricket League and Intercontinental Cup fixtures in January and February against Hong Kong.

Wheal, who made his first Scottish appearance last summer in Glasgow during a Scotland XI’s win over the MCC in August, taking 7 wickets in the match, qualifies through his Scottish mother.

The fixtures will be a brilliant opportunity for Wheal to stake a claim for place in Scotland’s squad for the ICC World T20 competition in March.

The 19-year old enjoyed an impressive first year at the The Ageas Bowl, making four first-class appearances during the 2015 season including a best of 4-101 against Middlesex at Lord’s in June.

Hong Kong are going to be tough opponents in all formats, particularly on home soil. We know them well and respect them as a strong fellow associate nation. As a squad we have had some precious time together reflecting on 2015 and planning ahead for the first quarter of 2016. I am hugely impressed with the skills within this squad and the desire to continually improve.
