Match Preview: Surrey v Hampshire, Vitality CC
A 13-player Hampshire squad will travel to The Kia Oval to take on Surrey in the Vitality County Championship
Hampshire Cricket are pleased to announce West Indian fast-bowler Fidel Edwards will join the Club earlier than first planned. The 33-year old was due to arrive at the The Ageas Bowl in time for Hampshire’s opening Royal London One-Day Cup match against Sussex on Monday 27 July.
However, the fast-bowler will now arrive in England to be available for selection for Hampshire’s T20 friendly against Dorset on Monday 4 May.
Fidel, who will be available in all formats, joins Hants as a Kolp player and therefore won’t class as an overseas player.
We're massively excited to have Fidel join us earlier than initially planned.

He's a terrific talent.

Renowned for his out-and-out pace, Edwards is hugely experienced in all formats with 55 Test Matches and 50 One-Day Internationals to his name for the West Indies. In arguably one of his finest individual performances in international cricket, the seamer finished with impressive figures of 6-92 in a Test Match against England at Lord’s in May 2009.
More recently, Edwards blew away the Nottinghamshire top and middle order to finish with figures of 8-40 during a friendly for the Combined Campuses and Colleges in March this year.
