Fran Wilson hit 43 to help England defeat Pakistan by 35 runs in their IT20 at the The Ageas Bowl
Fran Wilson marked her international comeback with an unbeaten 43 as England wrapped up a NatWest T20 series win against Pakistan with one game to spare, in front of a 6,000-strong crowd at the The Ageas Bowl.
Wilson, a 24-year-old Middlesex batsman whose last appearance came in January 2011, glued together a staccato innings on a slow track, with wickets regularly falling at the other end.
Jenny Gunn, Natalie Sciver and 17-year-old spinner Sophie Ecclestone then took two wickets each as England won by 35 runs, with some outstanding fielding.
After England had won the toss and elected to bat, Lauren Winfield started off in confident style – hitting three of the first four balls to the boundary.

Amy Jones then produced a smart piece of wicket-keeping, a low catch standing up, to see off BismahMaroof off the bowling of Sciver.
Jones was in the action again when she easily held a steepler from Javeria Khan off the bowling of Knight to break the highest stand of the match.
Sidra Nawaz and Asmavia Iqbal both departed in quick succession, and Ecclestone then bowled bothSana Mir and Aiman Anwer.
Gunn, who ended with stunning figures of two for seven, and Hazell, two for 15, ended the contest tomaintain England’s 100% record against Pakistan this summer. They will aim to complete a second consecutive 3-0 clean sweep in the last game of the series in Chelmsford on Thursday.
