Southern Vipers stars Lauren Bell, Charlie Dean, Freya Kemp, and Danni Wyatt have been selected for England Women’s tour of the Caribbean.

The 19 players selected will travel out to the West Indies on the 29th November, with the first of three ODIs taking place on 4th December, and the T20I series commencing on 11th December.

All four Southern Vipers players are included in both the ODI and T20I squads, with Northern Diamonds’ Nat Sciver and Katherine Brunt returning after taking a break from cricket in the latter half of the summer, whilst Lauren Winfield-Hill is recalled, and Western Storm’s Heather Knight returns to captain the squad after surgery on a hip injury.

Bell and Kemp both made their international debuts in the summer of 2022, with Bell making her debut in all three formats for England.

She took two wickets on Test debut against South Africa, and followed it up with a further a further two wickets in ODIs against India.

Kemp meanwhile was England’s leading wicket taker in the Commonwealth Games, and the 17-year-old ended her first summer as an international cricketer with 11 wickets to her name.

She also become the youngest Englishwoman to record a half-century in T20Is, as she smashed her way to 51* against India at Derby off just 37 balls.

Charlie Dean was awarded the PCA’s Women’s ODI Player of the Summer off the back of strong series against South Africa and India.

The off-spinner took eight wickets against South Africa, including a best of 4-53, plus three wickets and 108 runs against India.

I'm really excited to get to the West Indies and start working with this group. Though I wasn't involved in selection for this trip, we did have some brief discussions in the lead up to selection and I'm pleased for everyone who's been selected. It’s great to have Heather, Nat and Katherine back in the group. The quality and experience they bring can only add huge value both on and off the field. We will manage Katherine back into competitive cricket with an eye on the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in February. Equally, for Lauren, it’s pleasing to see a player go through a tough period and come back stronger, while demonstrating terrific form at domestic and franchise level. I have been particularly impressed with Lauren’s ability to put the bowlers under pressure and score at an impressive run rate in the power play.
