Greene King IPA T20 Pro:Am Player Draft Night

Four teams are now set with their squads to take part in the South region’s franchise T20 Finals Day on 1st July

Monday night saw the The Ageas Bowl host the player draft night for the Greene King IPA T20 Pro:Am tournament.

The franchise T20 tournament is split into three regions, North, Midlands and South, and offers local cricketers the chance to play with professional and legendary players upon a T20 Finals Day-like stage at first-class county and International grounds such as Derbyshire’s 3AAA County Ground, Northamptonshire’s County Ground and The Ageas Bowl.

The home of Hampshire Cricket is set to host the South T20 Pro:Am Finals Day on Sunday 1st July, which will see two semi-finals contested between four franchise teams: Greene King IPA, Hop House Lager, Pukka Pies and The Barmy Army, before the winners of each semi-final progress to the Final to conclude the event and battle for the trophy.

Monday’s player draft night saw guests, players, team managers & coaches and Hampshire professionals such as Liam Dawson and Gareth Berg enjoy the opportunity to be part of the tournament’s selection night.

A pool of 181 talented cricketers from the South of England registered for the exciting T20 blitz, with only 44 made the draft including a legend and a Hampshire professional available for each team. Legends taking part include Marcus North (Greene King), Simon Jones (Pukka Pies), Monty Panesar (Hop House Lager) and Devon Malcolm (The Barmy Army), whilst Hampshire pros are Chris Wood (Greene King), Reece Topley (Pukka Pies), Liam Dawson (Hop House Lager), and Chris Sole (The Barmy Army).

All four teams will take part in two T20 training sessions this month presented by their coaches and overseen by ex-Northants professional & T20 Pro:Am Operations Director Steven Crook, whilst S&C support will also be available to the players, all of which is in place to ensure that each participant will be ready at their peak performance for the big Finals Day on Sunday 1st July.

Tickets are available to purchase at just £10 (free to Under-17s) to have the opportunity to see the best of Club cricketers in the South perform with Hampshire’s in-form professionals and Internationally renowned legends, all battling out in a T20 Pro:Am Finals Day at the The Ageas Bowl on Sunday 1st July.
