Match Preview: Surrey v Hampshire, Vitality CC
A 13-player Hampshire squad will travel to The Kia Oval to take on Surrey in the Vitality County Championship
We were extremely lucky to have Rick work for HCB in a part time role, where he played a massive part in the Hampshire Disability Programme, providing opportunities for people with disabilities across the county. Rick delivered the schools programme, coordinating activity in over 20 schools and helping to facilitate competitions.
He supported training people with disabilities to become young leaders and helped with school festivals. Rick also supported the disability county squads, including the softball and D40 Academy teams who played matches against Sunday adult sides across the County. Rick worked tirelessy to give young people with a disability the opportunity to take up cricket and was an inspiring individual who played a huge part in the lives of so many.
Rick will be sorely missed by everyone, a really nice guy who was so passionate about disability cricket and always had time for everybody
Michael Pollard, Cricket Development Manager
Rick had been suffering with cancer for some time but contracted Covid-19 in hospital and eventually passed away last Saturday. Unfortunately given the current situation we cannot give Rick the send off he deserves. We do however intend to mark his significant contribution to disability cricket in due course so that his hard work and dedication is recognised and never forgotten.
