Hampshire Cricket Seek Disability Cup Double

T20 triumph just for starters as Adams, Andrew, Crane, McManus, Smith and Weatherley wish the squad well

Hampshire Cricket Board's disability team heads for Kidderminster for their national cup semi-final with Lancashire with one cup already under their belts.

The squad were boosted by 'good luck' tweets from Hamsphire Cricket stars Jimmy Adams, Gareth Andrew, Mason Crane, Lewis McManus, Will Smith and Joe Weatherley.

Hartley Wintney Cricket Club played host to the first triangular T20 (aka D20) Day held by the British Association for Cricketers with Disabilities.

Wins over Essex Cricket Board's disability side and the home club's under 21s secured the inaugural Maslow Cup.

A strong Hampshire squad chased down totals of 118 (v Hartley Wintney) and 72 (v Essex), while the hosts (93-1) overcame the visitors.

We're extremely grateful to Hartley Wintney Cricket Club, and in particular Martin Williams, for hosting the day backed by Maslow Capital and several other partners. The magnificent lunch and tea were matched by the standard of cricket and a sizeable crowd from the club and local community.

Maslow are committed to supporting diversity and are proud to help promote Disability Cricket in the UK, in which we are seeing fantastic talent coming through. It is especially good to see some of last winter's England Physical Disability winning team from the ICRC (International Committee of the Red Cross) T20 tournament in Bangladesh playing at the Hartley Wintney on a fantastic day for players and supporters alike.

Hampshire are out to regain the BACD National Cup after a heart-breaking exit in 2015.  The team, which contains 4 England Physical Disability internationals, had Shropshire on the ropes at 50 for 5, but lost on a bowl out after rain prevented any further play.

Lancashire, runners-up in the North group, will provide stern opposition but the squad are determined to regain the trophy they held back in 2012.
