Hampshire Girls Win National Finals

Under 15s Share Championship, More To Come From Under 17s?

Two of Hampshire's girls teams reached the Royal London National Finals to cap another successful year for the county's Women and Girls programme.

The Under 15s shared the national cup after the final with Staffordshire was abandoned without a ball being bowled at Uppingham Town Cricket Club.

A magnificent 22 run win the previous day in the semi-final against Surrey was a real team effort, with Charlie Dean (45) top scoring, although 60 extras helped!

She added 60 for the 3rd wicket with under 13 Amelia Marshall (25) and Anisa Ansar and Emma Bentall's last wicket stand of 31 posted a competitive total 171 for 8.

Surrey were well set at 126 for 2 until Ella Chandler (4 for 38) dismissed Neely for 54.  Tally Farrell (4 for 28) returned to account for Patel (40) and sharp work from Kirin Sahota behind the stumps wrapped the innings up.
