A Look Back At Hampshire's Past T20 Quarter-Finals

A look back at Hampshire's last three T20 quarter-finals ahead of Tuesday's 2017 quarter-final with Derbyshire

Hampshire will travel to North Group runners-up Derbyshire to contest the quarter-finals of the 2017 NatWest T20 Blast on Tuesday evening.

James Vince’s side will be hoping to secure a seventh quarter-final victory in a row as they aim to continue their great record in the shortest from of the game.

Ahead of Tuesday's fixture, here is how Hampshire fared in their previous three quarter-finals they have played in:

Worcestershire vs Hampshire  – 14 August 2015 – Hampshire Won By 17 Runs (D/L Method)

James Vince notched a superb unbeaten century as Hampshire reached their sixth consecutive Finals Day with a 17-run victory against Worcestershire at New Road in 2015.

Vince (107*) crunched 16 boundaries in a blistering 65-ball innings, whilst Michael Carberry (42) and Adam Wheater (32) contributed as Hampshire raced to 196-4 from their 20 overs.

In reply, Chris Wood (1-10) took a wicket and claimed a run out, as the visitors restricted Worcestershire to 58-2 in the ninth over before bad light stopped play, sealing Hampshire’s progression.

Nottinghamshire vs Hampshire – 3 August 2014 – Hampshire Won By Five Wickets

Captain Vince again made a significant contribution with the bat as his unbeaten half-century guided Hampshire to a thrilling five-wicket victory against Nottinghamshire at Trent Bridge in 2014.

Matt Coles (2-36) took both wickets, but half-centuries from Riki Wessels (62*), Samit Patel (53*)  and Alex Hales (51) propelled Nottinghamshire up to 197-2 after their 20 overs.

In reply, Vince (93*) kept his composure with a devastating 51-ball innings to send his side through to Finals Day against the odds with an over to spare.

Hampshire vs Lancashire – 7 August 2013 – Hampshire Won By 1 Run

Michael Carberry smashed an unbeaten century as Hampshire overcame Lancashire by just one run in a gripping quarter-final at the The Ageas Bowl in 2013.

Carberry (100*) brought up his ton hitting 14 boundaries and was supported by an entertaining, 30-ball half-century from Vince (60) as Hampshire posted a formidable 202/3 from their 20 overs.

In reply, Danny Briggs (2-36) and Liam Dawson (1-28) bowled economically as the visitors fell just one run short in a final-ball thriller on the South Coast.
