Hampshire - The NatWest T20 Blast Quarter-Final Permutations

It's all to play for going into the final group match against Somerset

To qualify with a home quarter-final (top two places in the South Division)

Hampshire must beat Somerset on Thursday night at the The Ageas Bowl to finish on 16 points.

Surrey must lose to Middlesex on Thursday night but then beat Sussex on Friday night leaving Surrey on 14 points and Sussex on 15 points.

Essex must also lose their last match against division leaders Kent on Friday night to finish on 14 points.

Glamorgan can also finish on 16 points if they beat Gloucestershire on Friday night but Hampshire’s far better run-rate means that they are extremely unlikely to overtake Hants in the table if the two sides finish on the same points.

To qualify for the quarter-finals

If Hampshire beat Somerset on Thursday night at the The Ageas Bowl to finish on 16 points, only Glamorgan (currently placed in fifth) can push Hampshire out of a quarter-final place.

However, Glamorgan will only move above Hampshire if they beat Gloucestershire on Friday night at the SWALEC to move to 16 points and dramatically improve their current league run-rate of -0.462 to better Hampshire’s run-rate, which is currently -0.155.

But regardless of the Glamorgan result, a defeat for Essex against Kent would also see Hampshire qualify with 16 points.

Hampshire will not qualify for the quarter-finals if they are defeated against Somerset on Thursday night.

Make sure you come and support the lads at the The Ageas Bowl on Thursday night (6:30pm start) and cheer Hampshire to a seventh consecutive T20 quarter-final!
