Hampshire Cricket Women and Girls Awards Round-Up

Hampshire Women lifted the Division Two title whilst the U15s were crowned National Champions as the county hosted its awards evening at the The Ageas Bowl

Hampshire Cricket’s Women and Girls celebrated one of their most successful ever seasons at their awards ceremony at the The Ageas Bowl earlier this month.

Hampshire Women were crowned Champions of Division Two of the ECB Women’s Championship, securing promotion to Division One for the first time in their history.

In addition, the U15 girls won the National Championship with a thrilling win over Yorkshire in the final, and the county celebrated all the achievements at the annual award’s evening.

Emily Windsor walked away with the Hampshire Women batting award, striking 272 runs in all formats whilst averaging an impressive 64.33 in the T20 competition this season.

Charlie Dean won the bowling award after picking up 20 wickets at an average of 15.65, helping her side earn promotion as well as making her debut for Southern Vipers in the Kia Super League.

Matilda Callaghan scooped two awards, winning both the fielder of the year and the Spirit of Cricket award as Hampshire Women experienced arguably their most successful season.

Dean was again amongst the winners as the all-rounder picked up the batting award for the U17s with her performances at the top of the order whilst off-spinner Ella Chandler won the bowling award.

Kiera Holloway won the fielding award whilst Loren Dean walked away with the Spirit of Cricket award as the U17s topped their T20 group with just one defeat from their six games whilst finishing second in the 40-over format.

Elsewhere, Amelia Marshall won the batting award for the U15s, who were crowned Champions of the County Championship, securing their status as the best of the best in that age group.

Tally O’Farrell won the bowling award for a string of impressive performances whilst team-mate Emma Bentall picked up the fielder of the year prize for Sam Bracey’s side.

Frankie Robertson won the Spirit of Cricket award as the U15s also topped their T20 group with five wins from a possible six matches as Hampshire celebrated a superb season in Women’s Cricket.

Elsewhere, Lucia Kendell picked up the batting trophy for the U13s, Beccy Jackson scooped the bowling prize and Jess Allcock won the fielding award, meanwhile Rhiannon Griffiths secured the Spirit of Cricket award.
