With Pakistan seamer Shaheen Afridi joining Hampshire for this year's Vitality Blast, we take a closer look at the exciting 19-year-old paceman and outline six facts you may now know about him.

1. Afridi is the brother of former Pakistan bowler, Riaz Afridi and the youngest of a family of seven. Riaz featured in one Test for his home nation, whilst carving out an impressive domestic career.

2. After being rewarded with a first-class debut in the domestic Quaid-e-Azam Trophy aged just 18, Afridi claimed outstanding figures of 8-39 in his first appearance - that haul is the best ever by a debutant in Pakistan's first-class competition.

3. Afridi was the first cricketer born in the 2000s to represent Pakistan when making his T20I debut in April 2018. He had previously been selected for his first international tour after claiming 5-4 in a PSL fixture for Lahore Qalandars, again aged just 18.

4. Following his selection in Pakistan's ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 squad, Afridi went on to take 16 wickets at just 14.63 apiece in the competition - including tournament-best figures of 6-35 against Bangladesh - as he finished as the nation's top wicket-taker.

5. The 6ft 6in left-armer made his Test debut in December 2018, becoming just the 35th player under the age of 19 to play Test cricket for Pakistan.

6. Afridi excelled during this year's Pakistan Super League, taking 13 wickets whichs saw him ranked the second most impactful player of the group stage behind the Southern Brave's Shadab Khan. Afridi registered many notable performances throughout the tournament with figures of 4-18 against Islamabad United a particular highlight.
