International Trio Return To The Southern Vipers For 2019

Suzie Bates, Tammy Beaumont and Danni Wyatt will all re-join the Southern Vipers for the upcoming 2019 Kia Super League campaign

The Southern Vipers are delighted to announce that Suzie Bates, Tammy Beaumont and Danni Wyatt will all return to the Southern Vipers for the 2019 Kia Super League.

An announcement made by ECB today put forward the allocations for the fourth year of the competition, and confirmed that England duo Beaumont and Wyatt will return to the The Ageas Bowl for another season after joining the squad for the first time in 2018.

Having represented the side since the inaugural campaign and skippering the squad last year, Suzie Bates also re-joins the side once again as overseas player.

Beaumont boasts an excellent record in limited-overs cricket at international level, totalling more than 2000 runs at an average of 40.36 in ODIs and proving to be instrumental to England's World Cup winning side in 2017. The right-hander also impressed during her first year with the Vipers last summer, totalling 198 runs in seven KSL matches at an average of 33 with the bat.

Wyatt has also been a key figure in England’s ranks since making her debut in 2010, featuring in more than 150 T20I and ODI fixtures for Heather Knight’s side. The all-rounder has 1,299 T20I runs to her name alongside 46 wickets at an average of just 15.34.

Bates is one of the best power-hitters of the women's game and has been an instrumental part of the national side throughout her career, totalling 4,392 runs at an average of 41.83, whilst also claiming 97 wickets at 33 runs apiece in 121 ODI fixtures. The all-rounder has also been a key contributor to the Vipers throughout the last three KSL campaigns, helping the Vipers to victory in the inaugural competition in 2016 before reaching a second consecutive final in 2017.

We’re delighted to be welcoming Suzie, Tammy and Danni back to the Southern Vipers for KSL 2019. We’re so lucky to have world-class players of their calibre who bring so much to our squad. It’s such an exciting summer for the women’s game and we all can’t wait for it to start.

I’m so happy to be coming back to the Southern Vipers for my fourth season – it’s such a great place to play and I’m looking forward to contributing to the team’s success again this summer.

I’m really excited to be back with the Southern Vipers for another season. Although last year was disappointing, we learned lots and everyone is looking forward to getting back to winning ways this year.

After the success of last year’s expanded Kia Super League, all six teams, including the The Ageas Bowl-based Southern Vipers, will once again play each other home and away in 2019.

The Southern Vipers will get this summer’s campaign underway at Liverpool as they take on Lancashire Thunder on Sunday 22nd July before another away fixture against Loughborough Lightning on Thursday 8th August.

The opening home match of the competition will see Western Storm visit the The Ageas Bowl on Sunday 11th August followed by a trip to the Kia Oval to face reigning 2018 Champions Surrey Stars just 24 hours later.

Hove and Arundel will then host two home matches against Lancashire Thunder (Thursday 15th August) and Surrey Stars (Sunday 18th August), before away fixtures against Western Storm at Bristol (Tuesday 20th August) and Yorkshire Diamonds (Sunday 25th August).

The final two home contests at the The Ageas Bowl will see Suzie Bates’ side welcome Yorkshire Diamonds (Wednesday 21st August) and Loughborough Lightning (Wednesday 28th August) to finish the group-stage. This year's KSL Finals Day will then again be hosted by Sussex at the 1st Central County Ground in Hove on Sunday 1st September.
