James Tomlinson Appointed Hampshire Cricket Player Development Manager

Hampshire Cricket are pleased to announce that former Hampshire seamer James Tomlinson will fill the Club’s role of Player Development Manager.

Within the role, Tomlinson will be responsible for both managing and delivering the player pathway whilst also overseeing all boys County age group sides and Regional Performance Centres.

The 34-year-old, who made his Hampshire debut back in 2002, featured for the County in a career spanning 14 years and one which saw him claim 419 wickets, before announcing his retirement in 2016.

Throughout his time at the The Ageas Bowl, Tomlinson was a popular figure among fans – not only for his on-field contributions but also for his humorous personality – and since retirement, the Winchester-born left-armer has been heavily involved with the Hampshire age-group, development and Academy sides. His new position will see him continue to help grow and develop the game and those playing it within the County. 

Tomlinson takes the reins of the position vacated by Matt Drakeley, who has overseen the running of the player pathway since taking up the role in 2014.
