Job Purpose & Key Responsibilities
The Operations Manager will report to the Head of Operations on all aspects of the role which has a strong focus on the tactical planning for a cricket match day operation and major events e.g. concerts and fireworks but also undertakes much of the implementation of any temporary infrastructure.
Event Planning – Cricket
Working with the Head of Operations, lead the operational planning stage of all domestic and International cricket matches held at the The Ageas Bowl or its outgrounds.
Be the main point of contact with third parties during the planning stages of international and domestic cricket matches, striving to exceed the minimum standards set.
The coordination of all information, supportive documentation, policies and procedures including all event orders, steward packs, transport briefing documents and leaflets.
Devise, manage and maintain transport plans whilst developing and enhancing relationships with all key stakeholders.
Arrange and chair briefing and de-brief meetings whilst collating all relevant information and distribute accordingly.
Event Planning – Concerts
Work alongside the Head of Operations on the planning of all concerts held at the venue.
Ensuring the conditions listed in each contract are adhered to.
Liaise with the Promoters’ project managers, production and health and safety teams, to ensure the safe and legal and efficient planning and delivery of concerts from the initiation to the post event reporting.
Coordinate temporary facilities, suppliers and stakeholders.
Produce specific plans for Event Management, Visitor Management and Transport Management.
Co-ordinate all necessary event management planning documentation, including all health and safety and insurance documents from delivery partners. Ensure that organisers receive appropriate feedback and input into operational planning.
Attend production build briefings, de-rig, rehearsals/sound checks and events where deemed necessary.
Liaise with the Security Manager, Safety Officer and external agencies to ensure all events and programmes have the appropriate safety and security provisions, complying with the Safety Certificate and Licensing.
Help to ensure the successful running of each concert from pre-planning to completion.
Event Planning – Other
In collaboration with the Event Committee, manage, plan and execute events in addition to cricket, concerts and fireworks.
Provide recommendations and advice on event delivery, identifying and highlighting major risks and proposing mitigation measures.
Represent the club at SAG Meetings, working with Building Control, licensing, Planning officer, Hampshire Police, Fire Service, Architects, Quantity Surveyor, M/E consultant, etc.
Day to Day
Working with Stadium department managers and finance department to ensure that event budget information is produced and managed in a timely manner, whilst managing expenditure inside the agreed budgets.
Ensuring clear communication with all Stadium stakeholders and other external parties with regards to Event Planning and Traffic Management.
Actively collaborating with colleagues to contribute to the development and delivery of Stadium strategic, business and operational plans.
Assist the Operations Department and I.T Department with other duties when required such as Facilities Management, Contractor Management, etc.
Apply for licences and permits such as television license, PRS and premises license as required
Create documentation to assist with projects and maintenance works, providing resilience in these areas.
