Job Vacancy: School Engagement Manager

The Ageas Bowl's charity, Hampshire Cricket in the Community is looking for a School Engagement Manager. This role is a full-time maternity cover position for up to a year and is a fantastic opportunity to earn experience in managing partnerships with Primary Schools.

Together with the Cricket Development Manager, the primary purpose of role will be to develop and implement the ‘Hampshire Cricket’ Schools Strategy, a key element of which will include the Chance to Shine programme.

Specifically, the role will enhance existing relationships with primary schools as well as increase the number of schools we work with, to achieve the ultimate aim of inspiring young people to choose cricket and be the best sport for schools to work with.

Location:                         The Ageas Bowl, West End, Southampton

Key Responsibilities

Working with the Cricket Development Manager:

• Implement the ‘Hampshire Cricket’ Schools Strategy for primary schools in Hampshire.
• Design and promote the ‘Hampshire Cricket Offer’ to primary schools (including coaching, competition, teacher training, cross curricular activities and transition into community clubs).
• Liaise with relevant Hampshire Cricket Ltd departments to utilise resources and facilities at the The Ageas Bowl to inspire young people to ‘play’, ‘attend’ and ‘follow’ cricket
• Identify schools and cricket clubs to work with
• Support the development of a high quality schools coaching workforce
• Agree key performance indicators with Cricket Development Director
• Monitor agreed budgets

Specifically:

• Maintain and enhance existing relationships with primary schools as well as establishing relationships with new primary schools
• Present the ‘Hampshire Cricket Offer’ to targeted to primary and secondary schools
• Be the main point of contact for primary schools and manage ongoing relationship against service level agreements
• Create a positive match day experience at the The Ageas Bowl to help increase participation in schools and local clubs
• Deliver broader educational programmes linked to cricket
• Demonstrate impact of programme by collating case studies and impact reports
• Represent Hampshire Cricket Board at Chance to Shine meetings

Skills & Competencies

• Educated to degree level or equivalent vocational qualification or experience

• Minimum 2 years’ experience working with or in education in a sporting context

• Previous experience of setting and monitoring budgets

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Experience of managing a volunteer workforce

• Experience of managing relationships with external partners
