Kyle Abbott Claims Hat-Trick At 2019 End Of Season Awards

Hampshire seamer Kyle Abbott was the big winner at Friday's End of Season Awards Dinner as the right-armer was recognised for his outstanding achievements this season, taking home three awards.

Sam Northeast, Ryan Stevenson, Providence Cowdrill and the Southern Vipers' Danni Wyatt were the other winners at this year's event, which celebrated the achievements of both Hampshire Men's and Women's sides and the Southern Vipers in 2019.

Abbott, who finished with 111 wickets across all formats this season, took home the prestigious Players' Player of the Year Award, presented by Laings Jewellers, as voted for by his Hampshire teammates. 

Abbott also claimed the Bowler of the Year Award, presented by Masuri, for his magnificent contributions with the ball throughout the summer, whilst Sam Northeast picked up the Batsman of the Year Award, presented by Greene King, for his 969 County Championship runs, as well as valuable white-ball knocks in 2019.

Abbott also claimed the Fans’ Player of the Year Award - an award voted for by Hampshire Members and supporters - for his fantastic campaign this summer.

The Clubman of the Year Award, presented by The Ageas Bowl, which aims to reward on and off-field commitment to the club, was won by Ryan Stevenson with votes cast by the The Ageas Bowl staff who selected a player who had contributed to off-field activities throughout the year.

Katie George's Hampshire Women side were also present for the evening with leg-spinner Providence Cowdrill receiving the Hampshire Women's Player of the Year Award for her impressive returns with the ball this season.

The Southern Vipers were also recognised during the evening as Danni Wyatt took home the Southern Vipers Player of the Year trophy following a stellar showing in this year's final Kia Super League competition.
