Match Preview: Kent Spitfires v Hampshire - NatWest T20 Blast

Hampshire face the Kent Spitfires at Canterbury looking to make amends after the defeat to Sam Northeast’s side at the The Ageas Bowl earlier on this season.

Hampshire Squad:

Hampshire have made one addition to the squad that travelled to Taunton last week with Gareth Berg coming into the 14-man squad. Captain James Vince has particularly impressed with the bat with 175 runs in the competition so far whilst Chris Wood, Will Smith, Yasir Arafat and Danny Briggs have all played their part in Hants’ three NatWest T20 Blast wins this season. 

The fixture will also be Fidel Edwards’ last match before he heads back to the West Indies for the Caribbean Premier League. The fast-bowler will return to the The Ageas Bowl at the end of July.

The Opposition:

Former Hants pair Matt Coles are David Griffiths are both likely to feature for Kent, who have made an impressive start to the NatWest T20 Blast campaign with four wins from the opening six matches. Captain Sam Northeast, who has notched up 344 runs already in the competition, will be the key man with the bat for the hosts.

• The last time Hampshire lost in a T20 match at Canterbury was way back in June 2008, by four wickets.
