Match Preview: England v New Zealand at The Ageas Bowl

The home of Hampshire Cricket set to host third ODI of the series

The Ageas Bowl hosts the third fixture between England and New Zealand of the summer in what should be an excellent contest in the Royal London One-Day International on Sunday 14th June.

The last time two these two met at the The Ageas Bowl was in 2013, and a number of international records were broken during an enthralling contest, which saw over 630 runs scored and batsman Martin Guptill steal the headlines with an eye-catching unbeaten 189.

The tourists went on to secure the ODI series 2-1 in 2013, so Eoin Morgan’s side will be looking to put that right this year when elite international cricket features once again at the ground.

Guptill will again be a player to watch for the tourists with an impressive average of 58 against England in all formats, whilst explosive skipper Brendon McCullum is always a danger man for the Kiwis.

England made a remarkable start to this ODI series against New Zealand by hitting their highest ever score in the 210-run win at Edgbaston. Jos Buttler hit the second-fastest ODI hundred by an England batsman off 66 balls, while Joe Root completed the fourth quickest.
