Hampshire will contest the biggest LV= Insurance County Championship match in their recent history when they face Lancashire in Liverpool on Tuesday.

James Vince’s side are currently top of the Division One table with one match remaining and victory against Lancashire would likely see Hampshire secure their first County Championship title since 1973.

Lancashire sit in third and four points behind Hampshire going into this week’s fixture while second place Warwickshire are 3.5 points behind and face Somerset at home in their last match. Fourth placed Nottinghamshire (6.5 points behind Hampshire) are the other side in with a chance of claiming the County Championship title and they face Yorkshire at Trent Bridge.

The sides finishing first and second in Division One of the LV= Insurance County Championship will go on to compete for the Bob Willis Trophy in a one-off match at Lord’s, starting on Tuesday 28th September.

Hampshire go into the Lancashire fixture in fine form, having won three of their last four LV= Insurance County Championship matches including impressive victories over title-rivals Warwickshire and Nottinghamshire.

Hampshire Squad:

A 15-player squad has been announced for the fixture with Lewis McManus returning after missing Hampshire’s last two LV= Insurance County Championship matches.

Keith Barker picked up career-best figures in Hants’ win over Notts while Liam Dawson finished with impressive second innings figures of 5-45 and both will be looking to carry that fine form into the Lancashire match.
