Match Preview: Somerset v Hampshire - NatWest T20 Blast

Hampshire have named a 13-man squad for their clash with Somerset at Taunton on Wednesday

Hampshire will be looking to get back to winning ways in the NatWest T20 Blast on Wednesday evening, when they take on Somerset at the Cooper Associates County Ground, currently sitting promisingly in fourth spot in the South Group with seven points from their opening six matches.

Hampshire Squad:

Hampshire have named a 13-man squad for their visit to Taunton, with Sean Ervine returning from injury and Fidel Edwards included alongside the final XI that featured in their most recent clash against Essex Eagles on Friday evening. Tom Alsop will be looking to continue his good form with the bat, with an impressive record against Somerset, smashing 85 when the sides last met.

The Opposition:

Somerset have had an indifferent start to their 2017 NatWest T20 Blast campaign, with two wins, two defeats and two none results. After starting the competition off with back-to-back defeats to Surrey and Essex, Matt Maynard’s side have bounced back with six points in four games. They come into this contest in some form, as Adam Hose’s 59 helped his side to a 21-run victory over Middlesex on Sunday.
