Match Preview: Sussex v Hampshire - Royal London One-Day Cup

Hampshire will begin their Royal London One Day Cup campaign against local South Coast rivals Sussex Sharks in the competition's first fixture on Monday at the The Ageas Bowl.

It will be the fifth encounter between the two sides this season and James Vince’s side will enter full of confidence after a thrilling 4 run victory over the visitors at Hove recently.  

The Opposition:

After finishing second bottom with six points in their group last year, Sussex will be eager to get off to a strong start in the group. With a final at Lord's at the end of the competition up for grabs, the two points on offer to the winners in this encounter are key.

Former England international Luke Wright will likely be a key-player for Sussex once again this season after enjoying a successful white-ball campaign so far this season, scoring more than 500 runs in limited overs cricket in 2015.

• Hampshire and Sussex last played each other in a 50-over contest back in 2009 in the final of the competition, with Hants winning by six wickets at Lord's.
• Hampshire have won three of the last four one-day matches against Sussex
