Squad news ahead of match at Lord's

Hampshire face Middlesex in their LV= County Championship match at Lord’s knowing a victory could see the side move out of the Division One relegation places

At the half-way stage in the competition, just 26 points separate last place from fifth in the Division.

Hampshire Squad:

All-rounder Sean Ervine will not available for the match after breaking his finger during Hampshire’s last Championship match against Somerset at the The Ageas Bowl. The 32-year old is replaced in the squad by batsman Joe Gatting, who has hugely impressed in recent weeks for the Second XI.

The Opposition:

Former England opening batsman Nick Compton is Middlesex’s leading runs-scorer in the competition so far with 549 runs at an average of 36. Seamer James Harris has been Middlesex’s most prolific bowler in the Championship with 41 wickets, averaging just 25.

Recent Form:

All-rounder Gareth Berg stood out with both the bat and the ball during Hampshire’s defeat to Somerset finishing with figures of 4-64 – his best for the Club - and top-scoring with 86 during the second innings.
