More Fans Enjoy Vitality Blast At The Ageas Bowl Than Ever Before

Attendances increased by 32% year-on-year at this summer's Vitality Blast matches at the The Ageas Bowl

Hampshire Cricket are pleased to announce this summer’s Vitality Blast saw more fans, especially families and under 17s, attend fixtures at the The Ageas Bowl than ever before.

A 32% year-on-year increase in average attendance was seen at Hampshire’s T20 matches at the The Ageas Bowl this season, whilst many of the fans in attendance were new to the game with more than 60% enjoying T20 cricket for the first time.

The Club’s seven-match T20 Passport product – which allowed access to all of Hampshire’s Vitality Blast matches at the The Ageas Bowl this summer – also proved to be hugely popular, with a 42% year-on-year increase in demand. The new Hampshire Cricket App, the first of its kind in English county cricket, has been well utilised by those attending the Vitality Blast with 20% of all T20 tickets sold accessed via the App which allows admission to the The Ageas Bowl using just your device.

The Ageas Bowl was recognised for its outstanding family experience at last December’s ECB’s Business of Cricket Awards, taking home the ‘Welcome Families Award’, and the club has continued to build on its reputation as the most family-friendly venue with more than 3,500 All Stars and Hampshire age-group representative players attending matches this summer, further highlighting the club’s continued effort to introduce cricket to the next generation.

As part of the venue’s off-pitch offering during the competition, fans were able to enjoy a host of free family-friendly activities around the ground, whilst a range of excellent ‘festival style’ food and drink concessions were available again this year – as well as live music at the ground ranked as having the best view in English cricket. As a result, fan experience scores at this summer’s Vitality Blast were the highest ever recorded at the The Ageas Bowl.

The atmosphere at Vitality Blast matches this season has been like nothing we’ve ever experienced, we’re grateful to everyone who made this record-breaking summer one to remember and can’t wait to see supporters back in force in 2020.
