On This Day: Woody Takes Four To Derail Glamorgan

Chris Wood derailed Glamorgan's run chase before it had really begun on this day in 2015

Chris Wood (4-16) - Glamorgan v Hampshire, NatWest T20 Blast - 29th May 2015

Hampshire travelled to Cardiff to face Glamorgan in the NatWest T20 Blast - on this day in 2015 - looking for a win in their third South Group match of the campaign, having split their two opening fixtures, a victory against Essex Eagles and a defeat to Kent Spitfires, both at the Ageas Bowl.

The hosts won the toss and put Hampshire in. It proved a good decision as Hampshire slipped to 5-1, 11-2, 20-3 and 39-4. Middle order contributions from Sean Ervine (49), Adam Wheater (19), Will Smith (30) and Chris Wood (18*) saw this visitors eventually post 148-8 from their 20 overs.

Glamorgan must have fancied their chances at the interval but that optimism wouldn't have lasted long once they were out in the middle as the scoreboard soon read 13-3, Chris Wood striking twice within the first five overs.

The Welsh side eventually limped to 127-8, Chris Wood finishing with his then best T20 figures of 4-16, while Smith, Briggs, Ervine and Yasir Arafat all picked up a Glamorgan wicket apiece.
