Preview of Hampshire's NatWest T20 Blast clash with Middlesex at the The Ageas Bowl on Friday

MATCH PREVIEW

Hampshire v Middlesex

NatWest T20 Blast

Friday 22nd July (7:00pm start)

The Ageas Bowl

Hampshire will be looking to secure a third Natwest T20 Blast win in eight days when they host Middlesex at the The Ageas Bowl on Friday (22nd July).

Hampshire Squad:

Liam Dawson returns from England Lions duties for this game, having been a crucial component in Hampshire’s white ball victories this season, with bat and ball. Sean Ervine skippers the side in James Vince’s absence.

Hants’ bowling options have been strengthened by the inclusion of South African all-rounder Ryan McLaren and 19-year-old spinner Mason Crane.

Brad Wheal, also 19, bowled terrifically at the death in Hampshire’s incredible one-run victory over Sussex. Gavin Griffiths has kicked off his month loan from Lancashire with two wins in two matches.

The Opposition:

England limited overs captain Eoin Morgan is the stand out batsman in Middlesex’s line-up. In his last three T20 matches, the 29-year-old has scored 43 (vs Somerset), 58 (vs Glamorgan) and 47* for England against Sri Lanka at the The Ageas Bowl.

Dawid Malan’s form has seen him called up to the England Lions squad. The batsman hit 53* against Somerset last month, and smashed 60 off 35 against Kent at Canterbury the following day.
