The Ageas Bowl Set To Host Marwell's Zany Zebras 'Zebratastic Weekend'!
The event is a one-off chance to view all of Marwell's Zany Zebra sculptures
The Ageas Bowl is set to host Marwell's Zany Zebras 'Zebratastic Weekend' - an event which will see members of the public invited to the venue to see all of Marwell's Zany Zebras on show together.
Following the hugely successful summer art trails in Southampton City Centre and Marwell Zoo, all of the sculptures and miniatures will come together for a dramatic showcase at The Ageas Bowl, offering a unique opportunity to view all 150 sculptures and 47 miniature replicas in one venue, between Friday 14th and Monday 17th October (9:30am to 4pm).
Upon the conclusion of the ‘Zebratastic Weekend’, there will also be a chance to buy a zebra to take home, as 47 large sculptures and one small sculpture go on sale at a Charity Fundraising Auction at Hilton Southampton – The Ageas Bowl on Tuesday 18th October.
This is a one-off chance to view all of our wonderful sculptures together in one location and it promises to be quite a spectacle!
The event will exhibit the range of wonderful designs and characters captured by our schools, groups and artists and the scale of the project as a whole and by putting on this fantastic showcase for Southampton, we are also hoping to raise lots of vital funds for the endangered Grevy’s zebra and other at risk species.
Hampshire Cricket duo Chris Wood and Brad Taylor have also been on-hand to assist with the promotion of the event, featuring in this week’s photo call alongside the The Ageas Bowl’s very own zebra, Zoot Suit.
Advance tickets for the ‘Zebratastic Weekend’ event are priced at £2.50 for adults (£4 on the door) and free for under three's and carers, and are available to purchase by calling 01962 777 965 or online at zanyzebras.org.uk. Tickets to the Charity Fundraising Auction are £20 each and also include an auction guide and a glass of wine. These tickets can be applied for online only at zanyzebras.org.uk.
