Under-19 NatWest T20 Blast Reaches Finals Climax

OT's and Romsey set to host NatWest T20 Blast U19 county finals

OT’s and Romsey CC will be the host of county finals for the NatWest U19 T20 Blast. The host club will also be taking part in the finals day event, comprising of two semi-finals and a grand final.

19 teams battled it out during this event and the competition contested over three regional groups in the county. It provided many additional opportunities for players aged between 14 and 19 to not only compete against other clubs but also provide a match day experience that the The Ageas Bowl offers during its T20 Blast fixtures such as music, catering and additional entertainment.

These boys and girls have really entered into the spirit of what the Blast competition is about and focus on plans and arrangements both on and off the pitch. Offering additional opportunities for people to play beyond 15 years of age is a national focus, spearheaded by the ECB and this has provided in excess of 50 additional fixtures for players in Hampshire and good news is that lapsed players have come back to their clubs to play.

The competition also offered flexibility for up to two “guest” players to play from other clubs which helped out with numbers during some pinch points during the season. Credit is due to all clubs who entered this year and it is a format that is set to not only stay but expand considerably in the coming seasons.

One team will be crowed winners by the end of the day tomorrow and if you wish to attend the event, here is the order of play (timings approx.)

1000hrs – Portsmouth v OT’s and Romsey

1300hrs – Basingstoke and North Hants CC v Grayshott CC

1600hrs – Final
