D'Arcy Short is a left-hand batsman and left-arm leg-spin bowler.

He was born in Katherine, Australia and has represented his home nation in both white-ball formats at international level.

A hard-hitting left-hander and effective left-arm wrist spinner, Short is one of the world’s best white-ball cricketers, having made 31 international appearances for Australia whilst also possessing extensive experience in many of the world’s best T20 competitions.

The 30-year-old has an exceptional T20 record, with 3,991 runs at an average of 35.31 to his name in 123 innings and 48 wickets at 30 apiece across both international and domestic fixtures.

Short has been integral to Hobart Hurricanes success in his home nation’s Big Bash League and he’s also impressed during stints for Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League and St Lucia Stars in the Caribbean Premier League.

The Western Australian also has experience of playing in the Vitality Blast having enjoyed a hugely successful spell previously at Durham in 2019, a period during which he struck 483 runs at an average of 43.90 from just 12 innings, the fourth highest run-tally of any batsman that campaign.

The experienced overseas international joins Hampshire Hawks for the 2021 Vitality Blast campaign.
