Harry Petrie

Bowler

Harry Petrie is a right-arm fast-medium bowler and right handed batter.

A tall exciting seam bowler who had a superb second half of the 2019 season, Harry Petrie played a leading role within the U17 competitions and gained selection to the Super 4’s competition a year young.

Harry entered the 2021 season looking to try to make an impact in the 2nd team. Being only 18 at the start of the season there was not much pressure on the young man to make an instant impact.

Petrie made his second team debut in May against Sussex and took match figures of 3/64, a good return considering his inexperience.

His best performance of the summer came against the same opposition but in a T20 match for the 2nd XI, taking four wickets and only conceding ten runs. Six second team apperances in 2021 yielded 11 wickets.

His performances for Hampshire saw international recognition later on in the summer, as he and fellow Hampshire player Tom Prest were called up for England Under 19's international series with the West Indies. Petrie played in one fixture, bowling six overs and not taking a wicket.

At the end of the 2021 season, Petrie was awarded with a rookie contract along with John Turner and Toby Albert, reflecting his on field contributions along with his obvious potential.
